Applied Philosophy

Keep digging down into the dark mysteries of the world.

As we pour out Pandora's jar upon the Earth, let us hesitate to reseal it before Hope arrives.

What is Hope?

Hope is the Blacksmith's vision, it is our 'foolish' dreams, our deepest aspirations.

We are being heated in the fires of Life,

We must seize the hammer of Philosophy and strike it on the anvil of Experience,

Shaping our lives by those principles we are most afraid to implement,

We often feel our core desires are impossible to apply in the 'Real World'.

We suspect that Life is all an illusion, that everything is pointless after all.

Hope reminds us that we are all magicians.

What is true magic, but Alchemy, the applied chemistry of the soul?

Love is the answer, but what is Love?

Love is an end, but also a path.

Love is Patient and Kind;
Love does not Envy or Boast;
It is not Arrogant or Rude.

Love does not insist on its own way;
It is not Irritable or Resentful;
It does not rejoice at wrongdoing,
But rejoices with Truth.

Love bears all things,
believes all things,
Hopes all things,
Endures all things.

Philosophy, the love of Wisdom, is the craft of actualizing Love in our individual lives and in society as a whole.

We are brought to Philosophy by Beauty,

Our hearts yearn for Beauty when we reach the abyss.

The Dark Night of the Soul is but the midnight before the dawn.

We are breaking free of our slumber before the sun has risen.

The hardest part is what we must do after we awaken.

The answers are found in the bottom of the jar.
